Ugh, the prime minister.

Anti-Harper :P

So this is something I feel strongly about, as I voted for the New Democratic Party in our latest federal election in October. There are just too many issues that Canada and the rest of the world has, of course I voted for NDP. I will tell you this,

100 million people voted yesterday in the presidential election (and congrats Obama! I hope there will be many positive changes within the next few years!) and sadly, there is rarely even half of the Canadian population who actually come out to vote. It’s pretty sad that we turn on the television and keep up to date with the Americans, because it “affects the rest of the world!” Of course it affects the rest of the world, but if you want change, why don’t Canadians vote in their own country? Too much hassle? Can’t be bothered? Who knows! It just doesn’t seem to be people’s priority, doesn’t seem to be that important…

Every time I see Stephen Harper I just cringe at that meatloaf haircut of his; and I hate the words that escape his mouth. :P This is a man who has lead one of the most secretive governments Canada has ever seen. This is a man who cares about the economy, yet he won’t take the time of day to visit the other provinces in Canada. I’m sure he doesn’t care about my needs, let alone the rest of Canada. This is a man who rejected the Heritage Commitee recommendation and could have improved our television station, CBC. A man who does not fund women’s rights and the arts. I, like many other Canadians am very passionate about the arts. I believe that art is a way for us to express ourselves and it will be carried on for centuries upon centuries. But Harper, obviously, doesn’t seem to care about the arts and this perturbs me to no end. Art, to me, is everything in life.

I am sure if more people in Canada voted, and realized how much pollution this man wants to contribute to the earth… you would not be voting conservative. You would realize the dangers of him being prime minister, but you don’t. If Canada actually cared, you wouldn’t agree with the conservative way. You would see how beneficial the NDP would be, considering the states are now Democratic, where does that leave Canada?

Stephen Harper and George Bush

Just look in the picture above, Harper shaking Bush’s hand… enough said. I could go on for hours but it wouldn’t get me anywhere. I just can’t stand to even listen to Harper and I don’t think he is going to make Canada a better place. It’s like we took a step backwards. I predict another federal election within a year or two anyways, considering all these minorit governments we have! :D

Jack Layton, all the way. <— And that is for another blog entry. ;)
